"I'm drawn to Raku because of the spontaneity and unpredictability the process affords. This allows for endless possibilities."
Patti Hartnagel is an Edmonton based clay artist who has worked exclusively in Raku for about 25 years. Raku firing is a centuries old technique perfected by the Japanese. Exciting, and sometimes unpredictable, surfaces filled with iridescent colours and/or crackled glazes are the result. Every piece is always unique. Patti's range of work includes both wheel thrown and hand built pieces—including: vases, planters, masks, free form platters, flared vessels, free standing decorative fish and CATS!
